Special Education Teacher | Easton, Maryland
Take your expertise in special education to the next level in an impactful, onsite contract position for the upcoming school year! This role offers a meaningful chance to support students in a dynamic educational environment, starting mid to late August and extending through mid-June. Enjoy consistent, full-time hours—working 7 hours a day (with a 30-minute lunch break), totaling 32.5 hours each week.
In this position, you'll be part of a dedicated support system for students at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. Caseload assignments are thoughtfully matched to your skills, with available roles including: Middle and High School Inclusion Teacher, Elementary Self-contained Behavior Teacher, and Elementary Behavior Support Teacher. You’ll collaborate with passionate colleagues while making a direct difference in students' educational journeys.
Qualifications:
- Valid certification or licensure for Special Education teaching
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher
- Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and behavior management
- Ability to foster positive relationships with students, families, and team members
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet diverse student needs
- Willingness to work onsite throughout the contract duration
- Experience in middle, high school inclusion, or elementary behavior classrooms preferred
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Provide direct instruction within inclusion or self-contained settings
- Support social-emotional and behavioral growth
- Collaborate with general educators, related service staff, and families
- Maintain accurate, timely student records and reports
- Create a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment
