Shape the future for elementary students as a Special Education Teacher in a vibrant K-5 environment, supporting learners who present with mild to moderate needs. This full-time, contract role runs from August 2026 through June 2027 and offers the opportunity to make meaningful connections with students and colleagues, all within a supportive school setting.
What We're Looking For:
- Valid Special Education teaching license/certification for K-5 levels
- Demonstrated experience or training with mild to moderate disabilities
- Ability to design and implement differentiated instruction tailored to individual student needs
- Strong collaboration skills for working with general education staff, support professionals, and families
- Excellent organizational abilities to manage caseloads, paperwork, and IEP development with attention to detail
- Positive attitude and flexibility when adapting to shifting priorities throughout the school year
- Effective communication skills for regular interaction with students, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver specially designed instruction to meet the unique learning goals of each student on your caseload
- Create IEPs, monitor progress, and conduct data collection to effectively support students’ academic and behavioral growth
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and confidence
- Work closely with colleagues and participate in team meetings to support overall student success
- Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with families regarding progress and needs
- Participate in ongoing professional development as required by the assignment
