Special Education Teacher | Edison, New Jersey

Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (SPED) required
- Demonstrated academic credits in Mathematics are essential
- Candidates with a Teacher of the Handicapped certification and Math credits are also encouraged to apply
- Experience or passion for working with special education populations in a school setting
- Strong communication skills, adaptable, and committed to fostering a positive learning environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver math instruction to special education students in accordance with IEPs and district standards
- Collaborate closely with instructional staff and parents to customize learning experiences
- Adapt lessons and strategies to address a variety of learning needs and abilities
- Monitor student progress through ongoing assessments and documentation
- Contribute to IEP meetings, development, and goal setting for students
- Maintain a welcoming, supportive classroom that encourages confidence and resourcefulness
