Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification in Special Education required
- Completed coursework or credits in Math is essential
- Alternatively, Teacher of the Handicapped with mathematics credits considered
- Prior experience teaching special education students preferred
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
- Ability to adapt lessons to meet diverse learner needs
- Commitment to upholding the highest standards of teaching and student care
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging math instruction to students receiving special education services
- Create individualized lesson plans tailored to IEP goals and academic levels
- Collaborate closely with colleagues, support staff, and families to support student progress
- Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by compliance guidelines
- Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom atmosphere focused on student growth
- Participate fully in school meetings, trainings, and professional development throughout the academic year
- Work proactively to address challenges and provide positive behavior supports
This contract position begins September 1, 2026, and runs through June 24, 2027, with a consistent 35-hour work week. You'll have the opportunity to develop trusted relationships with students, families, and staff, playing an essential role in helping learners reach their fullest potential.
