Special Education Teacher - Elk River, MN
Step into a meaningful role helping students thrive by providing both Special Education support and expertise as a Behavior Intervention Specialist in an engaging educational environment. This full-time, onsite opportunity offers a unique, split assignment: mornings are dedicated to high school special education instruction, while afternoons focus on behavior intervention services for elementary students. In this collaborative position, you’ll play an integral part of the school’s support system by mentoring staff, guiding the development of effective behavior plans, and delivering targeted interventions—without the responsibility of managing a direct behavior intervention caseload.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active Minnesota Teaching License (required)
- Tier 3 or Tier 4 Minnesota license required for contracted Special Education Teachers
- Experience supporting high school special education students and consulting on behavior intervention plans preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to build effective relationships with students, staff, and families
- Resume and proof of licensure required for consideration
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction to high school students receiving special education services each morning
- Serve as a key resource for elementary teachers by consulting on behavior intervention strategies and assisting in the development and implementation of behavior plans
- Foster a positive, inclusive environment that promotes student success and collaboration among staff
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to assess student needs, monitor progress, and adapt plans as needed
