Multiple openings are available across district-wide locations, offering opportunities to specialize as an Assessment Teacher, a Setting III/IV (Restore Program) Teacher, or as an Elementary ASD Center-Based Special Education Teacher. Qualifications and Desired Background:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a closely related field
- Valid Minnesota PELSB Special Education Teaching License (all tiers considered; preference for Tier 3 or 4)
- Experience with one or more of the following: special education evaluations, IEP development, assessment, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Emotional/Behavioral Disorders (EBD), or therapeutic settings
- Strong collaboration, communication, and documentation skills
- Familiarity with behavior intervention, crisis prevention, and trauma-informed practices is highly valued
- Ability to foster inclusive, positive classroom climates
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs, aligned with student needs and district policy
- Provide specially designed instruction and progress monitoring
- Participate actively in eligibility determinations, IEP meetings, and multidisciplinary team discussions
- Collaborate closely with general educators, administrators, related service providers, and families
- Maintain accurate records and compliance with IDEA and Minnesota requirements
- Support students’ behavioral and academic development using evidence-based strategies
