Step into an important role supporting elementary students in a center-based program for the 2026-2027 school year. This contract position offers the chance to make a lasting difference in the lives of young learners with varied abilities. You'll work closely with a group of approximately 11 students (caseload may fluctuate slightly with enrollments) as part of a dedicated team, fostering academic, social, and behavioral growth.
Key Qualifications:
- Must possess an active Minnesota PELSB Special Education Teaching License (Tier 1 and Tier 2 licenses are accepted, though Tier 3 or 4 are preferred)
- Licensure required in Emotional or Behavioral Disorders (EBD)
- Experience working in elementary school settings, especially center-based programs, is highly valued
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with staff, administrators, and families
- Ability to adapt teaching techniques to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs
- On-site attendance is required for this role; remote/virtual options are not available
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and small-group instruction tailored to student IEP goals
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure integrated educational experiences
- Implement and monitor behavioral intervention plans
- Maintain compliant records and accurate documentation
- Create a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
- Participate in professional development and team meetings
