Elementary Special Education Teacher in Elkhorn, NE

Bring your expertise as a Special Education Teacher to a rewarding contract role supporting elementary students. The assignment starts as soon as possible and runs through winter break, with the possibility for extension if a permanent hire isn’t selected.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility) appropriate for elementary school level
- Prior experience in an elementary school setting preferred
- Strong knowledge of IEP development, progress monitoring, and instructional strategies for diverse learners
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Flexibility to adapt to two different school environments
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom culture
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction, modify curriculum, and support students with a variety of special education needs
- Develop and implement IEPs in partnership with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Track and report student progress, modifying strategies as needed
- Collaborate with general education staff to promote integration and inclusion
- Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders
- Maintain accurate records while ensuring all compliance standards are met
