3rd Grade 2nd Grade Special Education Teacher | Federal Way, Washington
Exciting opportunities are available for experienced Special Education Teachers seeking engaging contract roles in a supportive school environment. Multiple positions are open for the K-5 level, with assignments ranging from preschool through 5th grade. The roles are based near the Federal Way, WA area and surrounding communities, providing the unique chance to make a significant impact in elementary education.
These positions are available immediately and offer assignments through February, with the potential for extension. Openings include placements in Preschool, Elementary Independent Learning Classrooms, and Elementary Structured Classrooms.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Valid certification in Special Education Teaching
- Experience in K-5 classrooms, including specialized teaching for 1st through 5th grades
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs
- Strong classroom management skills, especially within independent and structured classroom settings
- Collaborative approach to working alongside general educators, paraprofessionals, and families
- Passion for fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs
- Develop, update, and monitor IEPs in accordance with state and federal guidelines
- Utilize specialized strategies to adapt curriculum and instruction for various learning styles
- Collaborate with school staff to ensure consistent support and achievement for all students
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of student progress
- Foster a safe, structured, and welcoming classroom culture
