Make an impact by serving as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic school setting near Glendale, AZ. As a vital member of the educational team, you will help create inclusive learning environments for students with diverse needs, ranging from Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and ADHD to Emotional Behavioral Disorders, learning and intellectual disabilities, and more. This contract position offers the opportunity to foster growth and advocate for every student’s right to a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) within the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE).
Responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing effective, individualized education programs (IEPs) in line with IDEA regulations
- Participating actively in eligibility and IEP meetings as a collaborative team member
- Progress monitoring and data collection to drive instruction and student goal attainment
- Maintaining compliance documentation and accurate records
- Providing case management for students with a wide range of disabilities, including autism, developmental and intellectual disabilities, Down Syndrome, traumatic brain injury, and orthopedic impairments
- Addressing the unique behavioral, academic, and developmental needs of students, promoting a positive classroom environment
- Consulting with multidisciplinary staff and families to ensure continuity and consistency of student supports
Desired experience and qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Demonstrated experience writing and managing IEPs
- Strong knowledge of IDEA, FAPE, and LRE requirements
- Previous work with students with ASD, ADHD, EBD, and other disabilities preferred
- Effective communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to fostering student independence and self-advocacy
