Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Maryland Special Education Certification.
- Previous experience in a self-contained elementary setting preferred.
- Familiarity with emotional and academic supports, IEP management, and SPED best practices.
- Ability to implement interventions such as Read 180, iSPIRE, Bridges Program, and Orton-Gillingham, tailored to student needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver instruction and support in a self-contained classroom starting with 5 students, proactively adapting as enrollment grows.
- Lead curriculum design for PEALS (Program for Emotional & Academic Learning Support).
- Monitor student progress, set and update IEP goals, and maintain accurate records.
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals and utilize evidence-based interventions for reading, writing, and math.
- Participate in IEP meetings (primarily Tuesdays; subject to change).
