- Delivering instruction to students with diverse learning needs in accordance with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Collaborating with general education teachers, therapists, and staff to ensure student progress
- Assessing student strengths, challenges, and academic growth using appropriate assessment tools
- Adapting and modifying curriculum to differentiate for a variety of learning styles and abilities
- Maintaining accurate records of student progress, attendance, and behavioral data
- Participating in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development opportunities
- Managing classroom routines and implementing positive behavioral support plans
Ideal qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Special Education or related field required
- Valid Special Education teaching certification for the state of Georgia
- Previous classroom experience as a Special Education Teacher highly preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with students, families, and staff
- A passion for equitable education and empowering all learners to achieve their fullest potential
