Special Education Teacher | Athens, Georgia

Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Georgia Special Education Certification required
- Background working with students on the Autism Spectrum
- Proven skill in developing and implementing IEPs
- Effective classroom management and behavior intervention techniques
- Preferred: Experience with Adapted Curriculum, ABA strategies, visual supports, and functional communication
- Supervisory experience with paraprofessionals in a self-contained setting is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver adapted curriculum instruction aligned to student needs
- Write and execute individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Foster a supportive and structured classroom environment
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, service providers, and families
- Monitor and analyze student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
- Address behavioral and adaptive skill development
