Special Education Teacher - Winder, GA

In this contract position, you’ll lead the way in an adapted curriculum program, delivering targeted instruction and providing intensive individualized support in a nurturing environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Hold a valid Georgia Special Education Certification
- Demonstrated experience supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Skilled in developing and implementing IEPs tailored to student needs
- Strong command of classroom management and effective behavior intervention strategies
Preferred Background:
- Certification or hands-on experience with adapted curriculum
- Expertise working with students with significant cognitive disabilities
- Familiarity with ABA, structured teaching, visual supports, and functional communication systems
- Prior experience supervising paraprofessionals in a self-contained setting
Your Role Includes:
- Delivering direct instruction based on adapted curriculum standards
- Creating, executing, and monitoring individualized education programs
- Managing classroom routines and behavior support plans
- Collaborating closely with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families
- Collecting and analyzing data to guide instruction and document growth
- Differentiating your teaching to meet diverse learning needs
- Supporting development in communication, social, behavioral, and functional skills
In this self-contained elementary classroom, you’ll foster independence, growth, and a supportive atmosphere for students requiring intensive and personalized learning approaches. The district emphasizes collaboration and values your expertise as part of a dedicated multi-disciplinary team.
