Special Education Teacher - Hartford, Connecticut

Key Qualifications:
- Must possess a valid Connecticut Special Education (CT SPED) license
- Experience working with students in grades 3–5, especially in social-emotional and behavioral support settings
- Knowledge of evidence-based behavioral interventions and individualized instructional strategies
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic school environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and behavioral support to students in a specialized classroom
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and support staff
- Maintain detailed records and progress monitoring documentation
- Support students’ social and emotional growth, promoting a positive and productive classroom climate
- Engage in ongoing professional development and team meetings
