Special Education Teacher | Hayward, California
Step into an impactful role supporting students as a Special Education Teacher serving an ESN SDC caseload in a vibrant school community near Hayward. This full-time contract position offers an excellent opportunity to provide vital educational services to students with moderate to severe needs throughout the academic year, from October 5th through the end of the school year.
In this role, you’ll foster growth and achievement for a diverse group of learners, developing and adapting curriculum to fit individual student needs. You’ll collaborate closely with families, support staff, and fellow educators to deliver comprehensive support, ensuring every student can reach their full potential.
What you’ll bring:
- Current and active CTC licensure with Mod/Severe authorization (required)
- Background in special education, ideally working with ESN SDC caseloads
- Demonstrated experience creating and managing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work full time (35-37.5 hours per week) through the school year
Key responsibilities:
- Plan, implement, and assess individualized instruction to meet students’ unique learning goals
- Develop, update, and maintain accurate IEP documentation
- Foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
- Partner with families and multidisciplinary teams to cultivate student progress
- Engage in ongoing professional development to uphold the best standards in special education
