Special Education Teacher in Minneapolis, MN

This contract position focuses on serving children ages 3-5 who benefit from a nurturing environment that builds their cognitive, social, emotional, communicative, and physical skills through play-based, supportive interventions. The classroom setting is intentionally designed for smaller class sizes and intensive support, laying the groundwork for ongoing growth and successful future learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and continually monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), closely tracking student progress toward their goals.
- Conduct developmental assessments and classroom observations to support eligibility determination, individualized goal setting, and tailored instruction.
- Build collaborative relationships with families, general education teachers, and related service providers to create a supportive network for each student.
- Provide guidance, training, and ongoing support to paraprofessionals working alongside you in the classroom.
- Foster a positive classroom environment using strengths-based behavioral supports and strategies that encourage social-emotional learning and engagement.
- Adapt instructional routines to embed intervention seamlessly into daily play, supporting every child’s developmental pathway.

- Valid teaching certification in Early Childhood Special Education or Special Education.
- Demonstrated experience working with preschool-aged children with disabilities.
