This position runs from September 1, 2026, through June 4, 2027, with a weekly commitment of 37.5 to 40 hours. You'll work closely with a group of up to 10 students, and will have the collaboration and backing of paraprofessional and intervener support staff to make a meaningful impact each day.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Valid and active Special Education license from PELSB/MDE (required; candidates without this license cannot be considered)
- Tier 2 certification or higher, with preference given to those with ASD teaching experience
- Previous experience in an elementary education setting preferred
- Strong ability to collaborate and communicate with a multidisciplinary team
- Passion for creating a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for students with diverse needs
Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction and support to meet the unique needs of an assigned caseload of up to 10 students
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with regulations and best practices
- Coordinate and collaborate with paraeducators, interveners, and related service providers to support student success
- Maintain accurate student records and progress data; participate in meetings and parent communication
- Foster a classroom environment that promotes growth, independence, and inclusion
