Special Education Teacher | Andover, Minnesota

Key Qualifications:
- Current, active Special Education teaching license through PELSB or MDE required; candidates must already hold this credential.
- Experience or strong interest in working as a Special Education Teacher, specifically within elementary grade levels.
- ASD teacher preferred; must meet Tier 2 requirements.
- Confidence managing a diverse caseload and designing IEPs that address a variety of student needs.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with paras, staff, and families.
- Deep commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and adaptive learning environment.
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction based on IEP goals, adapting materials and methodologies to fit student strengths and needs.
- Maintain accurate records; document student progress and communicate effectively with parents and multidisciplinary teams.
- Work closely with paras and interveners to implement behavior strategies and academic supports.
- Advocate for students’ educational, emotional, and social development throughout the school year.
- Participate in school meetings, professional development, and team planning as needed.
- Provide insights to further enrich the school’s inclusive and collaborative culture.
This position offers a full-time weekly commitment at 37.5-40 hours, spanning from September 1, 2026 through June 4, 2027.
