Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility) for the state
- Strong background working with students in special education, preferably at the elementary level
- Familiarity with resource room models and small group instruction
- Solid understanding of 5th grade ELA and Math curricula and accommodations
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Ability to build rapport with students and families, promoting a supportive learning environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized ELA and Math instruction to 5th grade students, both one-on-one and in small groups
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) based on student needs and goals
- Monitor and report on student progress, adapting instruction to ensure growth and achievement
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to promote student success and inclusion
- Maintain organized records and compliance with all documentation requirements
- Foster a positive classroom climate that encourages engagement and confidence
