Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility for certification)
- Proven experience teaching upper elementary special education or resource classes
- Strong foundation in 5th grade English Language Arts and Math curriculum
- Background in IEP development and implementation
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with teachers, students, and families
- Passion for differentiated instruction and creative problem solving
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted ELA and Math resource support to 5th grade students with diverse learning needs
- Develop and execute individualized education plans (IEPs) aligned with student goals
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers and specialists to adapt lessons and materials
- Assess student progress and maintain detailed documentation of achievement
- Communicate effectively with families, sharing progress and strategies for support
