Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Special Education or related field
- Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and staff
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to diverse learning needs and abilities
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
Responsibilities:
- Plan and provide direct instruction to students with a variety of learning, emotional, physical, and mental disabilities
- Develop, monitor, and update IEPs in accordance with state and federal regulations
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure student goals are met
- Implement engaging instructional activities and modify curriculum as needed to enhance student success
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with parents/guardians
- Participate in professional development and team meetings to stay current with best practices in special education
