What we’re looking for:
- Two or more years of experience as a Special Education Teacher, with PreK experience strongly preferred
- Valid NY State Certification in Special Education or a current New York State Certification Level 3 Teacher Assistant
- Strong ability to collaborate with general education teachers, service providers, and families
- Excellent communication, adaptability, and classroom management skills
- Compassion, patience, and a commitment to helping all children reach their unique potential
What you’ll do:
- Provide individualized and small group instruction aligned with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Develop creative lessons that support academic growth and social-emotional development
- Adapt curriculum and materials to meet diverse learning needs
- Maintain clear records of progress, attendance, and communication with parents
- Participate in IEP meetings, staff planning, and professional development
- Foster an inclusive, safe, and positive classroom environment
