Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience in Special Education, with preference given to those who have worked at the PreK level
- Active New York State Certification in Special Education OR a valid New York State Level 3 Teacher Assistant Certification
- Strong understanding of early childhood development and the unique needs of preschool learners
- Creative, compassionate, and capable of adapting instruction to individual student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide developmentally appropriate, individualized instruction to students in the PreK Readiness Program
- Collaborate closely with parents, fellow educators, and support staff for best student outcomes
- Develop and implement IEPs geared toward social, emotional, and academic growth
- Monitor student progress, adjust teaching strategies, and maintain clear documentation
- Foster an engaging, safe, and nurturing classroom environment for young learners
- Encourage curiosity, self-confidence, and foundational skills that prepare children for future academic success
