Special Education Teacher | Jamestown, Colorado
Exciting contract opportunity for a Special Education Teacher in a supportive school environment this summer! The upcoming Extended School Year (ESY) program is seeking a dedicated professional to provide quality instruction and support to students with special needs. Based on-site, you'll work with elementary students Monday through Thursday, from 8:30 am to noon, making a meaningful impact during half-day sessions.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Special Service Provider License
- Experience working as a Special Education Teacher, ideally in an ESY or summer program
- Strong understanding of IEP implementation and differentiating instruction
- Ability to collaborate with staff and support student progress
- Compassion, patience, and excellent communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to students' individual education plans (IEPs)
- Provide support and guidance to help students achieve their learning goals
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Participate in panel interviews via Zoom with school and district staff
- Communicate with parents, teachers, and the school team to monitor progress
