Special Education Teacher - Kent, WA
Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting junior high students as a Special Education Teacher in a dedicated on-site role for the entire school year. This contract position offers a full-time schedule—37.5 hours weekly following the school calendar—working exclusively on location near Kent, WA. Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active relevant teaching certification in Special Education
- Proven classroom experience with junior high or middle school students
- Strong knowledge of IEP processes, progress monitoring, and accommodations/modifications
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with students, staff, and families
- Commitment to exclusively on-site instruction; remote or hybrid arrangements are not available
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction tailored to students’ IEP goals
- Develop and implement effective lesson plans that meet diverse learning needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers to ensure integrated support
- Foster a positive, safe, and supportive classroom environment
- Track student progress, communicate regularly with families, and participate in IEP meetings
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to all district compliance requirements
