This full-time contract position is available for a dedicated Special Education professional ready to support learners throughout the 2026-2027 school year, with a focus on guiding students through essential life and academic transitions.
Key Qualifications:
- Active and valid California Moderate/Severe (Mod/Severe) Education Specialist Credential (required)
- Deep commitment to fostering growth in students with moderate to severe disabilities
- Experience working with diverse learners, ideally within a similar instructional setting
- Knowledge of or interest in transition programs to support students preparing for life after high school
- Strong communication skills and collaborative approach
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Flexibility and problem-solving skills to adapt to varied classroom needs
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary instructor for a caseload of students in a moderate/severe (ESN) special education classroom
- Design and deliver individualized and group instruction aligned to each student’s abilities and IEP goals
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Maintain accurate records, track progress, and participate actively in IEP meetings and transition planning
- Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
- Implement strategies and accommodations to enhance student engagement and learning
