Embrace a rewarding opportunity as a Special Education Teacher in a supportive and peaceful K-6 school community. This contract position spans the 2026-2027 academic year, running from August 25, 2026, through June 11, 2027, with consistent daytime hours (8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, 35 hours per week).
You will work in self-contained, multi-disability classrooms, managing a small caseload of 7-8 students. Most of your students are in setting 2 or 3 and have cognitive disabilities, learning disabilities, or autism. The environment is noted for its tranquility and minimal behavioral concerns, allowing you to focus on fostering growth and achievement for every child.
Qualifications:
- Valid Tier 3 or 4 Minnesota Special Education Teacher licensure (required)
- Experience working in self-contained or multi-disability classrooms preferred
- Strong understanding of instructional strategies and behavioral supports for students with diverse needs
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
- Commitment to inclusive education and individualized student support
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student strengths and needs
- Foster a nurturing and structured classroom environment
- Deliver direct instruction using evidence-based practices in small group and individual settings
- Employ a variety of teaching methods to reach students with diverse learning profiles
- Work closely with general education staff, paraprofessionals, and families
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with state and federal guidelines
This W2 hourly contract offers competitive pay ranging from $33 to $38 per hour, along with comprehensive healthcare insurance and a 401k option.
