Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Maine 282 Special Education teaching license is required
- Previous experience with special education populations, preferably in self-contained or FLS settings
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with students, parents, and staff
- Demonstrated ability to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Passion for fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, individualized instruction tailored to diverse learning needs
- Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Maintain effective classroom management and support positive student behavior
- Monitor, assess, and document student progress toward educational goals
- Communicate regularly with families and school staff regarding student growth and needs
- Engage in school-related meetings, professional development, and IEP conferences
