This contract position in a specialized educational setting focuses on the needs of students within the GNETS (Georgia Network for Educational and Therapeutic Supports) program.
As an integral member of the team, you’ll deliver targeted instruction and behavioral interventions to support students’ academic, emotional, and social growth. Your expertise in classroom management, IEP development, and working with students who have behavioral challenges will help create a nurturing environment where every student can thrive.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide specially designed instruction in core subjects, adapting lessons for individual student needs
- Develop and implement IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications
- Incorporate positive behavioral supports and interventions throughout the school day
- Collaborate closely with school leaders, specialists, families, and colleagues
- Monitor student progress, document outcomes, and maintain compliance with policies
- Guide and support students with significant behavioral and emotional challenges
- Cultivate a structured, safe, and inclusive learning space
What We’re Looking For:
- Active Georgia Special Education General Curriculum Certification with coverage in all core academic areas
- Demonstrated experience in classroom management and behavior intervention
- Skilled in writing and executing IEPs
- At least three reference checks, including a recent supervisor
- Preferred: Experience in GNETS or alternative educational settings, experience with emotional and behavioral disorders, CPI or de-escalation training
