Qualifications & Background:
- Valid Special Education teaching license or eligibility in New Mexico
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher in early childhood or elementary settings preferred
- Understanding of IEP development and progress monitoring
- Strong skills in adapting curriculum and instructional strategies for diverse learners
- Experience with early intervention and child find processes is highly desirable
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver individualized education plans (IEPs) for PreK–5th grade students
- Provide direct instruction, modify curriculum, and differentiate activities to ensure access to learning for all students
- Coordinate and collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families
- Assess students' progress and adjust strategies to foster academic and functional achievement
- Participate actively in child find evaluations and early childhood screenings
- Maintain all required documentation in compliance with local and federal regulations
- Cultivate a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and independence
