Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Special Education licensure and credentials for working in secondary education
- Prior experience as a Special Education Teacher or Intervention Specialist
- Familiarity with developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Understanding of high school curriculum and accommodations for students with varying abilities
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Flexibility and resourcefulness in adapting lessons and instructional strategies
- Commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive learning environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and academic interventions to high school students in a dropout recovery setting
- Develop, update, and monitor IEP goals, ensuring compliance with state/federal guidelines
- Collaborate with fellow educators, support staff, and administration to tailor instruction and interventions
- Collect and analyze student progress data to guide instructional decisions
- Communicate regularly with families and caregivers about student growth and classroom activities
- Foster student engagement, motivation, and positive behavior through individualized approaches
- Assist in transition planning and preparing students for post-graduation pathways
