Your teaching will center around developing reading fluency, comprehension, and foundational math skills for students—primarily those with Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD) and Developmental Disabilities (DD). Qualifications and Preferred Experience:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification/licensure in the state required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of K-4 curriculum and evidence-based instructional strategies for reading and math.
  • Proven experience or demonstrated ability working with SLD and DD student populations.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with classroom teachers, support staff, and families.
  • Experience with IEP development, implementation, and regular progress monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver push-in and pull-out instruction tailored to individual learning goals in reading and math.
  • Design engaging lessons aligned with student IEPs and grade-level expectations.
  • Track student progress and adjust interventions based on data and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and paraprofessionals to support student inclusion.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging growth and independence.
  • Maintain all required documentation and participate in IEP meetings and parent conferences.
