This full-time role (37.5 hours/week, NSY) provides a unique blend of responsibilities across both high school and elementary settings:
- Serve approximately 12 high school students (class numbers usually 8-9)
- Guide about 6 elementary students with the support of two classroom assistants
- Utilize your EMD licensure to deliver specialized instruction and foster a nurturing, inclusive environment
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher credentials (EMD license required)
- Experience working with high school and/or elementary students with special needs
- Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
- Ability to adapt lessons to a variety of learning abilities
- Desire to grow through travel and embrace new educational challenges
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement tailored Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with assistants and general education staff
- Promote a supportive, positive environment for all learners
- Assess and monitor student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
