Special Education Teacher - Middleburg, Florida

This contract position begins August 3, 2026 and continues through May 28, 2027, offering 35 hours each week on a consistent, school-day schedule.
Preferred Profile:
- Active Florida ESE certification AND K-6 or PK-3 General Education certification required
- Experience leading self-contained special education classrooms
- Comfortable working with varying learning levels and exceptionalities
- Flexible and adaptable regarding elementary age groups (other preferences can be considered where possible)
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues, families, and support staff
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead all aspects of a self-contained ESE classroom for elementary-aged students
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Foster a safe, supportive environment for diverse learners
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to best support student growth
- Track and report student progress towards goals
- Engage in daily communication with guardians and related service providers
Additional Details:
- Full-time, on-site only—remote/virtual is not an option
- Teach at one assigned school; specific site will be confirmed during placement
- Classroom location primarily serves elementary learners in the Northwest district region
- Candidates must complete Florida credentialing requirements, including fingerprint clearance and an internal eligibility interview (virtual prescreen interview required)
