Step into a dynamic special education contract role supporting students’ growth and success in multiple school settings for the upcoming academic year. You’ll work closely with a collaborative team, serving diverse learners in both resource and center-based programs focused on behavior and cross-categorical support.
This opportunity spans from August 17, 2026, to June 3, 2027, with positions available in middle and elementary schools. Assignments include ASD and DCD center-based programs, as well as a middle school resource position covering FMLA leave. These classrooms primarily serve students requiring behavioral support and cross-categorical instruction, offering a rewarding environment for educators skilled in behavior management and problem-solving.
What we value:
- Valid Minnesota teaching credential in one of the following: Autism Spectrum Disorders, Developmental Disabilities, Early Childhood, Emotional Behavioral Disorders, Learning Disabilities, Special Education, or Academic & Behavioral Strategist License (ABS license not required, but qualifying).
- Experience working in special education settings, especially with emotional and behavioral disorders.
- Skilled in creating, implementing, and monitoring behavior plans.
- Proficient in establishing effective classroom routines and structures.
- Strong instructional background with the ability to differentiate for a variety of learning needs.
- Exceptional collaboration skills with colleagues in both special and general education.
- Experience scheduling and teaming with paraprofessionals.
- Reliable attendance and commitment to supporting students and colleagues throughout the contract.
