Special Education Teacher in Montpelier, VT

Tackle an exciting, onsite contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher, working full-time (35 hours/week) with elementary and early childhood students. Openings are available for three dedicated professionals: two Special Education Teachers for elementary levels, and one for early childhood.

Desired Background & Certifications:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility for Vermont licensure)
- Experience working with elementary or early childhood populations preferred
- Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and tracking
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Adaptability and compassion for working with students of varying abilities
- Familiarity with current best practices in special education
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging individualized and small group instruction aligned with IEP goals
- Assess student strengths and needs, collecting and documenting data effectively
- Collaborate with general educators, therapists, families, and support staff
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal setting and progress monitoring
- Implement positive behavioral interventions and supports within the classroom
