Special Education Teacher - Northfield, VT

Three Special Education openings are available—two elementary-focused and one early childhood—with 35 hours per week guaranteed. Work alongside dedicated educators who value innovation, compassion, and individualized instruction.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience teaching at the elementary or early childhood level
- Strong understanding of IEP development and instructional modification
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Ability to foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment
- Enthusiasm for collaborative planning and growth
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans to meet each student’s unique needs
- Adapt lessons and instructional strategies for diverse learners in an inclusive classroom setting
- Work closely with general education teachers, aides, and related service providers
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting interventions as needed
- Engage positively with families to support students’ educational journeys
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to school improvement initiatives
