Special Education Teacher - Williamstown, VT
Make a meaningful difference as a Special Education Teacher supporting students in Vermont’s schools. Multiple positions are available: two roles for elementary level special educators, and one for an early childhood special educator, serving vibrant communities in Washington and Williamstown.
Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility) for Vermont
- Experience or strong interest in working with elementary or early childhood populations
- Familiarity with developing, implementing, and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to create engaging, adaptive lesson plans tailored to diverse learners
- Dedication to fostering an inclusive, positive school environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instructional support to students with special needs, both individually and in small groups
- Develop and update IEPs in alignment with student goals and legal requirements
- Assess student abilities and progress using formal and informal tools
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to facilitate student success
- Maintain timely documentation, progress reports, and compliance records
- Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and team planning sessions
This is a full-time, 35-hour-per-week contract position requiring onsite work, allowing you to build strong relationships with students and colleagues alike. You will work in collaborative school communities dedicated to empowering every child to achieve their potential.
