Special Education Teacher in Nellis Afb, NV

Two passionate Special Education professionals are needed for contract positions serving elementary and middle school students in Las Vegas, working within a self-contained classroom setting. This assignment runs full-time from 7:30 AM–3:30 PM, with positions open immediately and continuing through May 31, 2027. The campus is situated on a military base and recognized as the district’s highest-needs site, providing vital services to a unique, inspiring student population.
Key Candidate Qualifications:
- Valid Nevada Special Education Teaching License, required
- Experience working with students on the Autism spectrum strongly preferred
- Background supporting high-needs or diverse populations is advantageous
- Adaptability, strong collaboration skills, and commitment to individualized instruction
- Ability to foster a positive, structured classroom environment with empathy and professionalism
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized educational programs in a self-contained classroom
- Lead caseloads of up to 13 students, with 8–10 present in the classroom at any given time
- Collaborate closely with dedicated paraprofessionals and aides for each class
- Support students, including those with Autism and complex needs, in both academic and social growth
- Ensure inclusion by coordinating student participation in specials with accompanying aides
- Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and IEP compliance in accordance with district and state requirements
