Key Qualifications:
- Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) Special Education certification valid for high school assignments.
- Previous experience working as a Special Education Teacher or in a similar educational setting is preferred.
- Strong understanding of IEPs and the ability to implement accommodations and modifications as detailed.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with co-teachers, students, and support staff.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee and provide direct support to a caseload of around 15 high school students with IEPs, monitoring progress and ensuring compliance with educational plans.
- Co-teach US History classes, partnering with general education teachers to deliver differentiated instruction that assists any student with an IEP in the class.
- Adapt instructional materials and teaching strategies to meet individualized student needs within both self-contained and inclusive classroom settings.
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and families.
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes growth and learning for all students.
