Special Education Teacher | Newark, Ohio

Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher certification or eligibility required
- Experience developing and implementing IEPs
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to adapt instructional methods to individual student needs
- Experience with a range of disabilities (mild to moderate and/or moderate to intensive) preferred
- Collaborative approach for partnering with general education staff, families, and related service providers
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities in accordance with individualized education plans
- Monitor and document student progress, regularly updating IEPs as needed
- Modify curriculum and classroom strategies to ensure accessibility for all learners
- Foster an inclusive, positive, and supportive classroom environment
- Communicate effectively with parents, team members, and administrators
- Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and staff collaborations
