Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Valid state certification in Special Education.
- Experience teaching or working with elementary-aged students, K-5.
- Ability to build positive relationships and foster a supportive classroom culture.
- Skill in differentiating instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities.
- Familiarity with creating and following Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, individualized instruction to a classroom of K-5 students in a self-contained environment.
- Collaborate with five paraprofessionals to provide academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support.
- Develop and implement daily lesson plans aligned with students’ IEP goals.
- Foster a classroom culture that values inclusion, respect, and learning.
- Monitor and document student progress, utilizing data to guide instruction and interventions.
- Communicate with families and related service providers to support student success.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, professional development, and ongoing training.
