Two in-person Special Education Teacher positions are open, with roles available at both the middle school and elementary levels. What we’re looking for:
- Valid state certification or licensure to teach Special Education (meeting all Vermont requirements)
- Demonstrated success in Special Education settings, specifically with middle or elementary school-aged students
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to coordinate with staff, families, and support networks
- Ability to develop, implement, and track Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Classroom management expertise and an approachable, patient demeanor
- Availability for full-time in-person work throughout the entire academic year (August 28, 2026 – June 18, 2027)
- Commitment to fostering an engaging, empowering, and supportive classroom environment
Primary responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction to students based on IEPs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and outside providers
- Perform assessments, monitor progress, and adjust strategies for student growth
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and compliance with all district/state requirements
- Engage with families and guardians to support positive student outcomes
- Adapt curriculum and instructional methods to meet the diverse needs of all learners
As part of this role, you’ll work a consistent 37.5-hour schedule each week in a well-resourced, supportive setting, allowing you to build lasting relationships and truly make a difference.
