You'll support a K-4 classroom with 10 remarkable students integrated in the general education setting, using a blended model of push-in and pull-out services. Ideal candidates bring Orton-Gillingham training or a strong background in evidence-based literacy interventions, ensuring targeted instructional support for young learners.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Valid State Certification in Special Education (or eligibility)
- Experience working with elementary students (Kindergarten–4th Grade)
- Training in Orton-Gillingham methodologies or equivalent literacy approaches preferred
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to adapt instruction to diverse learner needs
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students through both push-in and pull-out methods
- Collaborate with general education teachers to develop and deliver individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Deliver targeted literacy interventions, especially utilizing Orton-Gillingham strategies
- Monitor student progress and maintain detailed records
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
