Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Special Education Teacher (grades 6-8 preferred)
- Experience working in a self-contained, Life Skills or similar special education setting
- Strong knowledge of IEP development, writing, and compliance
- Proven ability to adapt teaching strategies to diverse learning needs
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction and support in a middle school Life Skills classroom for students in grades 6-8
- Implement, write, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to ensure student progress
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment emphasizing independence and functional skills
- Collaborate with educational staff, related service providers, and families
- Track student progress and maintain accurate records in accordance with district and state guidelines
