Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification for the state
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
- Understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance
- Experience utilizing differentiated instruction for students with a range of disabilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster relationships with students, families, and colleagues
- Ability to adapt to various classroom and resource settings
- Organization and time management skills for managing caseloads and documentation
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) that address students’ unique learning needs
- Work closely with general education teachers, aides, therapists, and support staff to support integrated learning opportunities
- Provide direct instruction and modify curriculum based on student ability and learning style
- Track progress, maintain records, and regularly communicate with parents or guardians about student development
- Monitor and support positive behavior interventions and classroom management strategies
- Participate in team meetings, trainings, and professional development activities as required
