Qualifications and Experience Sought:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification for Washington State
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field
- Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Strong understanding of a variety of disabilities and learning differences
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with students, families, and colleagues
- Ability to adapt curriculum and instruction to accommodate unique student needs
- Previous experience in a school setting preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, review, and implement IEPs aligned with state regulations and student goals
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to foster an inclusive classroom environment
- Use differentiated instruction and innovative strategies to support learning and behavior management
- Maintain ongoing communication with parents and guardians regarding progress and interventions
- Prepare and organize materials, assessments, and progress reports
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and contribute to teamwork focused on student success
