Special Education Teacher in Omaha, NE

This position is designed for an experienced special education teacher who can take charge, structure programming, and bring dedication to helping students transition successfully. You’ll serve as the licensed teacher on-site, ensuring students’ needs and program requirements are met.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification in special education
- Previous experience working with students with IEPs, especially those transitioning out of traditional school programs
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to run an educational program independently
- Passion for fostering independence and life skills among young adults
- Commitment to maintaining a positive, supportive classroom environment
Responsibilities:
- Lead the daily instructional program from approximately 10:00am to 2:00pm (with prep and wrap-up time 9:30am–2:30pm)
- Develop and adapt lessons tailored to students’ individual needs and IEP goals
- Monitor progress and document achievement to support IEP compliance
- Foster a supportive and engaging atmosphere where students can thrive
- Communicate regularly with program directors and related service providers
