Make a positive impact in students’ lives by providing essential support as a Special Education Teacher in a middle school setting. This full-time contract opportunity starts August 20, 2026, and is expected to extend through the entire school year, with an end date to be determined. You'll work weekdays from 7:30am to 4:00pm and join a collaborative team dedicated to student achievement.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Minnesota Special Education (SPED) Tier 2-4 License required
- Experience or educational background in Special Education, preferably with middle school-aged students
- Ability to adapt instructional material to individual and small group needs
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with teachers, paraprofessionals, and families
- Willingness to work in a contract role and be flexible with changing needs throughout the school year
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to two small middle school groups focused on math and social skills
- Manage a caseload of approximately 15 students within Setting 1-2 environments
- Partner with an additional teacher and a team of experienced paraprofessionals to provide a supportive classroom atmosphere
- Track student progress, document IEP goals, and communicate updates to families and other stakeholders
- Participate in IEP meetings, team planning sessions, and professional development as needed
